I want to try out for the team my sophomore year. I am a stickler (sp?) for advice and if anyone has any advice or info I would be super happy...no really,...I'd be ecstatic (sp?) Well, if you've done all of those guards, you shouldn't have a problem making the team. There are two types of tryouts, a: they show a routine and you perform it based on how fast you caught on or how much you've practiced, and b: you come in with your own routine and you perform it showing off your originality and technique. It is important to smile no matter what. The style of dress is determined by the person in charge of the tryouts. In scenario a, it shows how you twirl with others. Scenario b shows your originality and experience. Some tryouts will have you with both. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask me. I have been a flag twirler since my sophomore year in high school and now I am in my sophomore year in college. Good luck with your auditions. Also, if you can, get acquainted with some members of the line and they will be most likely willing to help you when you tryout. Again good luck. and Let me know your results.
