Posted By: Empress V on May 19, 2006 This is the year that I will be turning 18, this is also the year that my mother, Patricia Thompson was shot and killed by a Rochester Police Offier, my older brother shot and killed by a street hustler, the year that we had to admit my father into a hospice because he hid his Lymphoma from his family for nine years, and now the docters has given him only 3 months to live and the year were my older sister, my only sibling who shares the same blood from both my father and my mother, to develop bipolar disoder, and possibly schizophrenia. This is the year were I have been tested on so many occasions, on so many levels, and yet I have overcome. This is the year where I will not be able to look out onto the audience and see my mothers' smiling face, and hear my brother hootin' and holler'in at me as I walk across the stage and recieve my High School diploma. But this is also the year where I have grown on so many levels, I have been able to mature mentally as well as physically. This is the year 2006, the year where I have truley stepped into womanhood. Girl, first off, you are in my prayers! I know the feelings aand emotions that you are going through, but believe me when I say that God has great plans for you. he only tests the ones that he knows can hanlde it and rise to the occasion. I'm happy to see that you handled your situations for the poisitive and doing what you need to make yourself a better person-- better yet...woman. Stay up and God Bless because there is always a rainbow at the end of every rain.
