Fall Fashions are Ready to Make a Big Debut on HBCU Campuses for the 2022 Homecoming

Fall Fashions are Ready to Make a Big Debut on HBCU Campuses for the 2022 Homecoming
Posted By: Kenlaun Mitchell on October 21, 2022

For Homecoming 2022, Howard University will host its annual student fashion show. On October 20, 2022, where students will show off their fashion pieces. As expected at HBCUs, students enjoy dressing up and making fashion statements.
Homecoming on the Howard University campus as well as other HBCUs across the nation allow students to dress up like in a runway in New York or Milan.
HBCU fashion has been a tradition during homecomings for decades. Like football, concerts, and parties, fashion is an essential part of homecoming ceremonies. The following are a few fashion tips: One, choosing the right top is essential for coordinating the perfect outfit. Select a top to show your university colors and spirit. It could be from your favorite designer like Tommy Hilfiger. Two: Choose nice color jeans that will look great with that top. Go with some Levi’s or True Religion jeans. That way, you get people’s attention when sporting that look for the Homecoming season. Tip Three: For any good coordinating outfit, find the right shoes. For women, it can be high or low heels. Choosing the right shoes will make your outfit pop, and show excellent fashion taste. Finally, accessories are the most vital thing to any good outfit. With this, you are ready for the HBCU runway. For more information on the 2022 Howard University Homecoming, go to Homecoming 2022 Homepage | Howard University Homecoming. On October 17, 2022, Homecoming season Howard University did a pop-up collection, which was, organized By the Howard University Fashion Council.

The designs presented by the council were so extraordinary and creative that many students Loudly applauded the models as they showed off their designs. After all, HBCU fashion during the homecoming season plays an excellent role for both alumni and students, who try to look their best. Other HBCU fashion events took place at Norfolk University, called the Decades Fashion Show.
According to the article from HBCU Buzz, mentions "from the blast from the past, a history lesson will be taught as the show broadcasts of Black America from the 1930s to the present." This event at Norfolk University as part of their Spartanfest back in 2017 right before homecoming season starts. Although, the article did not mention where the show will be broadcasting at this event that was held on Norfolk’s Campus back in 2017 is the true inspiration of Black excellence.

This Show, HBCU Fashion, has made a difference for Homecoming season, and people new to HBCU campuses like UDC, Howard, or Norfolk need to dress to impress for Homecoming 2022. Because Fashion on HBCU shows the true meaning of what school spirit and HBCU Pride is all about, front to back and side to side. Also, the Homecoming event on Howard’s campus is the definition of, what HBCU fashion is all about. For example, Howard University Fashion Council President Jared Belfield created a fabulous design of a graphic dress shirt with jeans and boots that coordinate the outfit together swiftly and perfectly. This event held at the Mecca shows that fashion on HBCUs campuses has really made an impact over the years and will continue to do so for the next generation of HBCU students.
