Fedex Support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities

Posted By: Kennedy Williams on November 24, 2022 The energetic spot highlighted and celebrated the strength of FedEx support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF). FedEx arranged for eight students in the FedEx-HBCU Student Ambassador program to receive a private tour of Acrisure Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The tour was led by Steelers running back Najee Harris and Carlos Etheredge, senior vice president of Human Resources at FedEx Ground. The ambassadors also met former Pittsburgh Steeler Donnie Shell. Donnie is an alumnus and current board member of South Carolina State University, which is an HBCU. Fun fact: Donnie was an undrafted free agent, but through hard work, went on to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame — talk about inspirational! To wrap up the day, FedEx Ground hosted the ambassadors at FXG headquarters where several executives offered career advice and details about internships through the FXG College Pathways Program. This NFL season, FedEx is once again proudly collaborating with TMCF to make donations in the name of winning quarterbacks and running backs through the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Awards program to HBCUs across the country. In addition to FedEx’s initial $5 million HBCU commitment, FedEx will donate more than $100,000 to support needs-based scholarships at select HBCUs. To learn more visit.
