Travis Scott Foundation Announces Date for 2024 HBCU Softball Classic to Fund Scholarships

HOUSTON – Rapper Travis Scott announced the date for the 2024 Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic to provide scholarships for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The proceeds from the event benefit the Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund, Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation, and the Project H.E.A.L initiative.

“In 2022, the Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund provided $1,000,000 in total scholarships to 100 seniors at Historically Black Colleges and Universities to apply towards their tuition fees,” the Cactus Jack Foundation said.



The event is happening on Feb. 15.

Event schedule

5:30 p.m. Gates open

7 p.m. Homerun derby

7:30 p.m. Softball game

The softball game kicks off the HBCU nine-game baseball tournament. The baseball classic was also created by the Astros Foundation and Astros Youth Academy to put a spotlight HBCUs’ baseball programs.

Houstonians can attend the event from Feb. 16-18 at Minute Maid Park.
