HBCU Alumnus Tangela Parker Turned Global Marketing Powerhouse Honored With Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award

Joined an elite group of female C-Suite leaders when President Joe Biden awarded her the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. The annual awards honor a select few who "exhibit outstanding character, work ethic, and dedication to their communities." Recipients of the award must have completed a minimum of 4,000 hours of volunteer service. The President's Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor in the President's Volunteer Service Award program. Parker was honored with the award based on her successful 24-year marketing and public affairs career where she has supported underserved communities and developed programing to improve their quality of life. Parker's marketing credentials are bolstered by leadership experience as Head of Marketing and successful tenures at various Fortune 500 healthcare organizations where she's led Marketing, Public/Community Affairs, and Creative Services. Most recently, she was Head of Marketing at CVS Health, leading marketing, community affairs and brand strategy. "I am passionate about investing in underserved communities and equipping others to rise above poverty," added Parker, recognized as one of the nation's top marketing experts and motivational speakers. "I am also incredibly fortunate to love my work and the communities we serve." Tangela Parker is a member of The National Association of Female Executives, Alcorn State National Alumni Association, American Society of Public Administrators, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Network of Executive Women, and Junior League of Atlanta. In addition, she volunteers with various civic and cultural organizations, including Agape Youth & Family Center, Dress for Success Atlanta, Andrew, and Walter Young YMCA, CHOICES4Kids, Mary Hall Freedom House, Hosea Helps, and Kate's House. A native of Brandon, Mississippi, Parker holds a bachelor's degree in political science and pre-law from Alcorn State University.
