A native of Greenwood, Mississippi, Dr. Stewart has lived in Montgomery Alabama since 1990. She is a professional actress, play director, national museum exhibit director, tenured Professor as Dean of the College of Visual & Performing Arts at Alabama State University (ASU). “On June 1, 2019, Dr. Stewart officially retired from ASU, having a legacy of over 48 years of a career in higher education dedicated to the enlightenment, empowerment and enrichment of young people who have graduated with an education and a vision for quality of life both professionally and personally.” To be an Honoree of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award continues an affirmation of Dr. Stewart’s contributions to the Performing Arts and to higher education that will be celebrated at the annual HERprenuer Awards hosted by The Herpernuer Network on September 20th, 2024 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel in Montgomery, AL. The annual award celebration was founded by Dr. Nikki Ziegler who created The Herpernuer Network International, an organization geared towards Christian women in business and ministry by identifying strengths and challenges as entrepreneurs to expand their knowledge in branding, finances, and faith. “We are committed to bringing forth higher standards to help build herprenuer businesses providing platforms, opportunities to thrive through workshops, seminars, events, and branding strategies. We believe in Sisterhood which consists on Supporting and Loving one another and to be there to hold our fellow Herprenuer/Sister Accountable for what she says God told her to do. We are here to ’Snatch Edges‘ and help our Herprenuer Sister to know that she has to get GOD permission in her Business, Ministry, Life and definitely in the Marketplace“ says Dr. Ziegler.
