Potawatomi Zoo announces name for new baby giraffe

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on December 05, 2024 The Potawatomi Zoo says one of its newest additions now has a name! As you may recall, a female Masai giraffe calf was born at the zoo back on Oct. 13. The zoo says the calf was named Hadassah by one of its generous friends. Taken from the Biblical story of Queen Esther, Hadassah is a Hebrew name that means “myrtle.” “Myrtle trees are associated with peace, love, and prosperity, so it seems like a great name for a giraffe calf that’s already so loved by the community,” says Potawatomi Zoo Director Josh Sisk. “Since we’re a non-profit organization, donations to name animals like this calf are a special way to further drive our mission of education and conservation.” Check out the full story https://www.wndu.com/2024/12/05/potawatomi...
