|
Posted By: Samantha Savory on June 23, 2025 The Miami Takeover (MTO) is returning to Miami Beach this Summer from July 25-28, 2025 with an exhilarating four-day cultural event series that celebrates HBCU’s, Black culture, art, community and go-go music as it partners with the Greater Miami Conventions and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and delivers the largest Black Miami Beach festival of the summer. As an official Art of Black Miami Beach event series in accordance with the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority (MBVCA), The Miami Takeover will deliver a safe and welcoming environment for Black Americans and HBCU graduates with exhilarating event lineup featuring comedy shows, community service events, pool parties, concerts, nightlife experiences and more. Founded by three HBCU-educated Black entrepreneurs–Wylie Kynard (FAMU), Antwoine McCoy (FAMU) and Vincent Peden (SCSU)–MTO has developed a niche in the travel and event nightlife space for curating events that cater to HBCU graduates, Black professionals and cultural tastemakers who appreciate authentic culture, art, music, and community. “We’re excited to celebrate the culture, art and community this summer with our epic four-day line up of events. Especially with the current climate in America under the current administration, Black Americans deserve safe spaces to celebrate their culture. Additionally, we’re celebrating go-go music’s 50th anniversary with our main event— The Art of Go-Go Culture Fest. With support from the GMCVB and MBVCA, we know it’ll be a great cultural reunion,” said Vincent Peden, partner at The Miami Takeover LLC. Additionally, MTO is proud to produce the 17th Annual Miami Takeover festival with the Miami Beach Black Advisory Board (BAAB) in an effort to advance the social, economic, political and educational needs of the diverse Black world community throughout Miami-Dade County, while enhancing the quality of life for for Miami residents. “Everything goes back to Florida A&M University and our alma mater’s motto: Excellence with Caring.
