Spoken Poets InTellectualizing™ Honoring Nikki! -Call for Submissions- Gumbo for the Soul Publications is in the process of developing our first “strictly poetry” publication by the visionary team of Gumbo for the Soul International®, headed by Beverly Black Johnson; the creator of Gumbo for the Soul Publications and TRIBE Family Channel®, home of Soul School Music with Marshall Thompson of The Chi-Lites. This anthology will follow six previously published series that focuses primarily on literacy; family; philanthropy; the community; health and education. This inaugural “strictly poetry” edition is due out on what would have been Nikki Giovanni’s 83rd birthday, June 7, 2026. "I have adored Nikki for forever, and am honored to have had her on our show a few times over. Her wife has been made aware of this honor." -Beverly Black Johnson Your participation is invited.
