NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 3, 2026 - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), one of the premier NCAA Division I athletic conferences for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), has announced its weekly women's tennis honors, and the HBCU community has much to celebrate.

Howard University, a renowned HBCU institution in the nation's capital, has shone brightly on the tennis courts, with two of its standout players earning top accolades from the MEAC.

Key Takeaway: The success of HBCU athletes in the MEAC women's tennis competition is a testament to the talent and dedication found within these historic institutions, further showcasing the excellence of HBCU sports programs.

Imani Jean, a junior at Howard University, has been named the MEAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week. This honor recognizes Jean's exceptional performance on the court, where she has consistently displayed her skill, determination, and leadership as a key member of the Howard women's tennis team.

Alongside Jean's impressive achievement, her Howard teammate, Camille Hall, has earned the prestigious title of MEAC Rookie of the Week.

Hall's outstanding contributions as a newcomer to the MEAC tennis landscape have not gone unnoticed, and her recognition as the Rookie of the Week is a testament to her promising future in the sport.

These accolades hold significant meaning for the HBCU community, as they showcase the incredible talent and potential of students within these historic institutions. HBCUs have a rich tradition of producing exceptional student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom, and the recognition of Jean and Hall is a testament to this legacy.
