North Carolina Central Softball Shines in HBCU Invitational Victory

COVINGTON, Ga. – The North Carolina Central University Eagles softball team made their HBCU community proud with a decisive 5-3 victory over the Fort Valley State Wildcats on the second day of the HBCU Softball Invitational at the Turner Lake Complex on Saturday.

Leading the charge for the Eagles was sophomore pitcher Elana Krupey, who delivered a dominant two-hit performance to secure the win for her team. This triumph highlighted a split result for the Eagles, as they later fell to the Florida A&M Rattlers by a score of 9-4 in the nightcap.

In the early game, the Eagles wasted no time in setting the tone, scoring runs early to build a lead they would not relinquish. Cameron Frye led the way for the Rattlers in the nightcap, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, but it was not enough to overcome the Eagles' earlier success.

The HBCU Softball Invitational is an annual event that brings together some of the top teams from Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the nation.
