GREENSBORO, NC - The South Carolina State Bulldogs softball team is set to hit the road and face off against their former Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rival, the N.C. A&T State Aggies, in an exciting doubleheader matchup this Saturday, February 28th. The action is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. inside the Lady Aggies Softball Complex.

The Bulldogs, hailing from the proud Historically Black College and University (HBCU) community, will be looking to build on their recent successes as they take on the Aggies, another storied HBCU program. Both teams have a rich history in the MEAC, having competed against each other for years before N.C. A&T's departure from the conference in 2021.

South Carolina State enters the weekend with a 3-4 record on the young season, coming off a series of tough matchups against some formidable opponents. The Bulldogs will be led by their standout pitcher, Jada Kee, who has already recorded 22 strikeouts in 21.1 innings of work. Offensively, the team will look to Kyla Graham and Jada Joyner to provide the spark and drive the attack.

Key Takeaway: This matchup represents an important opportunity for the Bulldogs to showcase their talent and compete against a familiar MEAC foe, showcasing the depth and quality of HBCU softball programs.

On the other side, the N.C. A&T Aggies have a 5-5 record so far this season and will be eager to defend their home turf against the visiting Bulldogs.

The Aggies are led by their power-hitting duo of Kaitlyn Eaton and Jazmine Moody, who have combined for four home runs and 16 RBIs early in the year.

"This is a huge opportunity for both teams to showcase their talent and compete against a familiar conference rival," said Bulldogs head coach Shayla Holden. "We're looking forward to the challenge and hope to come away with a couple of wins to build momentum heading into the rest of the season."

With the rich history and fierce rivalry between these two HBCU programs, this doubleheader is sure to be an exciting and hard-fought affair. Fans of HBCU sports will be eager to tune in and see which team emerges victorious in this battle between the Bulldogs and the Aggies.
