Morehouse College continues to shine on the track as two of its standout student-athletes earned prestigious recognition from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) this week. The conference announced on Tuesday, March 17, that Victor Chebii and Noah Willingham have been named SIAC Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their impressive performances in recent competition.

Key Takeaway: Morehouse College claimed both SIAC Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors on March 17, demonstrating the Maroon Tigers' dominance in conference competition.

The dual recognition represents a significant achievement for the Maroon Tigers track and field program, showcasing the depth of talent competing for the historic Atlanta-based institution. Having two athletes honored in the same week underscores Morehouse's commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on the track.

The SIAC weekly honors program recognizes student-athletes across the conference who deliver outstanding performances in their respective events.

These awards celebrate not only athletic achievement but also the dedication and hard work that HBCU student-athletes demonstrate week after week throughout the competitive season.

For Morehouse College, this recognition adds to the institution's proud legacy of producing elite athletes who compete at the highest levels of collegiate track and field. The Maroon Tigers have long been a force in SIAC athletics, and performances like those from Chebii and Willingham continue to build on that tradition of excellence.

The SIAC, one of the oldest athletic conferences among HBCUs, consists of member institutions across the southeastern United States. The conference's track and field programs have produced numerous athletes who have gone on to compete professionally and represent their countries on the international stage, making weekly honors like these important stepping stones in athletic careers.

As the track and field season progresses, the Morehouse College community and HBCU sports fans across the nation will be watching to see if Chebii and Willingham can continue their strong performances and potentially earn additional accolades. Their success serves as inspiration for aspiring young athletes at HBCUs everywhere, demonstrating the high level of competition and achievement possible at these historic institutions.
