DOVER, DE - Delaware State University has been selected as one of only five Historically Black Colleges and Universities nationwide to participate in the Shawn Carter Foundation's Champions for Financial Literacy Program, in collaboration with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

This prestigious initiative positions DSU at the forefront of advancing financial empowerment and economic mobility, providing students with access to a world-class curriculum, professional development opportunities, and community-focused financial literacy training.

Program Highlights:

"This partnership represents a transformative opportunity for our students and the broader community," said President Tony Allen, Ph.D. "Delaware State University has always been committed to preparing our students for success, and this collaboration with the Shawn Carter Foundation and Wharton School will provide invaluable resources to enhance financial literacy and economic empowerment."

The Champions for Financial Literacy Program is designed to equip the next generation of leaders with essential financial knowledge and skills.



Through this initiative, DSU students will gain access to cutting-edge curriculum developed by Wharton's renowned faculty, along with hands-on training and mentorship opportunities.

Acting Vice President for Institutional Advancement LaShawne A. Pryor, Ed.D., CFRE, emphasized the program's broader impact: "This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to serve our students and community. Financial literacy is a cornerstone of economic mobility, and we're honored to be part of this groundbreaking initiative."

The Shawn Carter Foundation, established by music mogul and entrepreneur Jay-Z, has long been committed to providing educational opportunities and resources to underserved communities.
