HATERS!!!!!!

HATERS!!!!!!
Posted By: Ariana Simmons on April 20, 2005

Okay, so this is the thing. I go to a school and live in an area where no one wants to see anyone do good in their lives. I hate to say it but it is mostly the black people in my area. Last year, I was involved in many extracurricular activities at school and when my family members found out about it, they would say "Oh, that's for the white people.

You just want to be white." And another thing I hate is that when I talk in correct English, they would tell me that I talk like a white girl. How do white people and black people talk? All I want to do is better myself and be happy but it's hard when I have all these people trying to bring me down. All they want to do is sit on their porches and talk about people. They are on welfare and live off of food stamps. I don't want to do that for the rest of my life. Why do people act like that?

I feel you on your situation. All it is you are facing a little bit of adversity. Everyone has to face it in some form or another. Thats is a good thing though because facing and getting past it is how you become a better person and make it to the top in whatever you want to do in life.

JUst be true too yourself and live your life. I know it is probably hard but just keep on doing what you are doing. In all your blackness, determination, and motivation do what is right to secure a better future for you and your family.

Baby Girl: There will be people around you like that all your life. Be strong and don't let them steer you off your course. They will be the same ones standing up at your graduation saying that they knew you could do it. There are 25 things a Sista should never apologize for and a few of them are: 1. Never apologize for using proper English. Keeping it real doesn't mean speaking Ebonics. 2. Never apologize for being successful. Only haters want to keep you at their level. 3. Never apologize for making a decision from your heart, even if others don't agree. You have to live with the consequences, not them. What you have decided to do is a wonderful thing. There is no explanation for why even our families act like that, but just keep your hand in God's hand and let Him guide you through the successful life I know you will have.
