Southern California HERC
|
Posted By: Lori Lindsey on August 17, 2006 Searching for staff or academic jobs in higher education at Southern California colleges and universities is easy due to the Southern California Higher Education Recruitment Consortium employment Web site: www.socalherc.org. The HERC Web site is the first higher education employment Web site in Southern California and is a tremendous aid for people seeking a variety of careers in a college or university setting. Instead of searching through multiple Web sites of individual institutions to stay informed about job openings, job seekers have access to centralized information about faculty and staff positions at the consortium's member institutions. Currently, the HERC Web site features close to 2,000 jobs, with links to thousands of others and receives more than 30,000 hits per month. Job seekers have free access to the HERC employment Web site and all of its convenient features, including the "myJobs" feature, which matches applicant profiles and their job search criteria with daily job postings and automatically sends customized job listings via e-mail. The site also features a dual-career search function that enables job seekers to link their search criteria with those of a spouse or partner, ensuring notification of available jobs that meet both job seekers' search criteria.
