Cincinnati Toy Drive

Posted By: Zaria Davis on October 17, 2006 The Cincinnati Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and Cincinnati African American Firefighters Association are coming together for their Annual Toy Drive. We will collect new toys such as dolls, cars, etc along with monetary donations from October 1, 2006 through December 10, 2006. The organizations will deliver items to Vine elementary and a selected Cincinnati community. This is the 4th year that the group has worked together on the toy delivery. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development, and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization' s programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically. CAFA strives to raise awareness of struggles of African American firefighters and citizens in the city of Cincinnati and across the nation. We are committed to educating our community, enhancing their public safety awareness and assisting them with fire prevention. We seek to help our children become role models, to help eliminate disparities and discrimination within our Fire and Rescue Department, while maintaining the health and safety of ourselves and the people that we serve.
