Posted By: stirling knight on December 24, 2007 Well this is my rant and rave for 2008. thanks to ms spry for the thought my name is stirling knight.. i dont go to moorehouse or clark. i dont go to famu or Tuskegee or Howard ... I go to Paine College. im not downing the other schools, but it seems as if only a few schools get the Camera put in thier faces. we dont have the money like everyone else, but my school My PC, has been producing leaders since 1882. we have had Teachers, Preachers, doctors, lawyers, and the list goes on of people who got that chance of the school whose color are Purple and white. I believe that my school my private methidost institution has the same preistege as a PVAM and a jackson state. I believe that we are on the cusp of greatness.. true we dont have a football team and a Marching 100 but we work with what we have... our campus dosent take up all of the Garden city of augusta, but you get the community feel everytime you adventure out into the city... all in all i love Paine college i started there just a year and a half ago and i dont want to go any anywhere. my argument that is shared with a lot of my Paine Peers is why not Paine. Put Us on the Black college tour. not even that jus Give us and the other Little black colleges a shot at fame. our motto is you can get there from here... i just want the world to know where HERE,MY pc is...... another motto is rejoicing in hope.. well I hope the rite people read my rant.. holla If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |

Hi Stirling, me & my prents agress with you, I have applied to Paine College for next fall. We're finally glad to see someone respond on this site from Paine. You're right about certain HBCU's, we live in Stone Mountain and I this is my senior year and I hear alot of students talk really bad about HBCU's. They all say we don't get educated the same as white colleges. It's not where you go, it's what you do with it. It's alot of college grads that have went to these prestigious schools and still don't have the prestigious jobs to pay for that prestigious tuition. We're not putting them down either but you have to also place the blame on the administration of the small colleges, meaning they need better website, they need to go out and recruit like other HBCU's and the white colleges. Why should they offer something that we ourselves can't offer? Me and my family are going to visit paine as soon as school is back in. People also talk about the crime in Augusta, but there is no more crime there that here in the "A". My parents want me to to get a good education and come out swinging when I graduate!!!! Stirling you need to hip all of the Paine college family and mount up. Paine students need to talk to other students and administration about representing Paine college in the Black College Fair that they have in Atlanta every spring, so they can get back on the map. My parents said at one time years ago, Paine was a popular HBCU. Let's get it back to that!!! Stirling i'm on my way to the other "A" town LOL!!!!!! Tuesday, January 1st 2008 at 6:43PM |
