ELECTION WATCH '08: Black Women Voters Split Between Clinton and Obama

Posted By: M Smith on January 11, 2008 With African-American women voters torn between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the two front-runners for the democratic nomination are gearing up to win the minority vote in the next major primary in South Carolina on January 26. Black voters make up more than 50 percent of democratic voters in South Carolina, but their loyalty, especially among women, is split between the former first lady and newcomer, Obama. In a december 2007 poll, 45 percent of South Carolina’s Black voters said they would support Obama, while 46 percent said they preferred Clinton, reports to CNN. i hope that all black voters go out and vote. i am very tired of the same family entering the white house meaning the clintons and bushes. mrs. clinton is very arrogant as well devise when it comes to politics. the comments that she made on "meet the press" referring to dr.king and using former president johnson were very decisive and misleading. she need to get her facts straight about the civil rights voting act. first of all, johnson didnt want to sign it at all because he was forced to signed under sealed orders of john kennedy and following being pressure under bobby kennedy to get it into legislation. remember now johnson was a dixie democrat meaning he never cared for blacks anyway just as the republicans. i want someone who is fresh as well new. the old democrats that are now in congress and senate arent doing nothing for the american people who are putting them in office to end the war etc..and they aren't doing anything as of right now. obama is fresh, very smart, intellitual, very respectful etc and he would be highly qualified as mrs. clinton. he's a a fresh senatot for illnois and he took care of all his people, what did mrs.clinton do for her people in new york other than giving george bush the power to send our troops in iraq and we have nothing but dead soldiers, injured soldiers and homeless soliders coming back home for what. obama isnt playing the race card, mrs. clinton is and its very tacky and old. i will vote for obama and yes i am voting for him coz its time for a real change in the game. thank u
