USBGA's National Chapter Program is a Hit!

USBGA
Posted By: S. E. Day on May 18, 2008

Since launching its National Chapter Program on May 1, USBGA's corporate headquarters have been inundated with inquiries about and requests for exclusive chapters, nationwide. USBGA has already established chapters in Georgia (Atlanta & South Metro), Oklahoma (North Oklahoma City), and Illinois (West Chicago). With the establishment of its newest chapter in Texas (Dallas), USBGA now has 5 chapters with two more under review that are scheduled to be opened by 5/31/08.

“We are astounded by the insurmountable responses we have been receiving for chapters, nationwide. This is a clear indication that the Black community is hungry for its representation in the world of golf. These new chapters will be essential in the development of a national platform, where ethnic golfers can improve their rankings via structured regional, state, and national tournaments. Quite frankly, these tournaments will improve member chances of playing on the PGA circuit," states USBGA's president and CEO, S.E. Day.

USBGA's short-term goal is to have 40 active chapters by 12/31/08. The long-term goal is to have 12 exclusive, member-only chapters in each of the contiguous 48 states, Hawaii and D.C. USBGA will start conducting regional tournament once the NCP has established a minimum of 6 chapters per state. The NCP is a national campaign to create exclusive member-only chapters nationwide. Under the NCP, chapter members will compete on a regional, state, and national level via developmental tournaments to increase their exposure and professional rankings under USGA guidelines and handicap system. For more information on establishing a chapter in your area, visit myusbga.com/ncp.

For $99 a year, USBGA members will be able to play and enjoyed the game of golf at over 3300 courses in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and a number of countries abroad while enjoying significant savings at golf courses, resorts, driving ranges, lessons, stay-and-play and vacation packages, as well as, car rentals, dining, and shopping. Individuals can log on to the website; myusbga.com to join.
