Trust

Trust
Posted By: Christie Mack on July 30, 2008

Firm belief or confidence in the honesty, integrity, reliability, justice, etc. of another person or thing; faith; reliance

It is our innate nature to survive and progress at whatever the cost. This means being willing and able to detach yourself from your emotions in order to evolve. Trust is not a natural instinct, at least not in depth. It is a development of human relation caused by the result of specific characteristics. It is difficult, and tremendously powerful in the respect that it causes a person to become weak. When you formulate the concept in your mind that a person or thing can be trusted, you are then left unguarded and defenseless to the theory of Murphy’s Law. But, when a person allows themselves the ability to trust, they gain an unmatchable strength through the acceptance of that vulnerability. To trust a person enough to be willing to stand at the edge of that intangible cliff with arms spread wide taking that leap of faith, and trusting they will catch your fall or you learn to fly. That is when you begin to trust.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Real trust is a surety of divinity. It causes you to push past your carnal limitations and exude a quintessentially perfect being. When completely putting your trust in God you keenly submit to his will. You allow yourself the opportunity of advancement and divine direction. Who better to allow control over your life other than the one who created it? We are so quick to gain independence and rely solely on ourselves and as a result permitting pride to dictate to our demise. I made the decision along time ago to completely place my trust in God. This resolution was formulated by witnessing first hand his ability to do things in my life that I myself could not. And I know that I am probably not worth even the minute effort to save, but for some reason he saw more in me than any man ever has. I know my value through the proof of my existence, the fact that he took his time in my creation, gently crafting my being and making no mistakes. Because he loves me so, and shows true this love each day; I humbly with all my heart surrender myself to his will denouncing my own philosophy and embracing his wisdom. Only he can infallibly direct my path. I endeavor for the ability to trust and love with the same intensity he has shown me.

"A blessed thing it is for any man or woman to have a friend, one human soul whom we can trust utterly, who knows the best and worst of us, and who loves us in spite of all our faults."
Charles Kingsley

I used to be afraid that if I dropped all my guards and showed a man who I really was inside that he would betray that advantage. I could never bring myself to trust anyone.

How can someone who knows heartache all too well trust in man’s ability to produce anything other than that? For years it ate at my soul to know the inevitable, that all relationships pursued would end in infidelity, concluding in loneliness for a person that had always feared solitude. I couldn’t do it. I wasn’t strong enough to allow myself to hurt that much anymore. I didn’t trust in my ability to handle the disappointment. But how can a relationship form and grow without the basis of trust? To live your life a captive of fear is hell in itself. God created man a companion in woman, and it is in that sacred bond that we must learn to edify and build up one another. Love me enough not to accept my faults but to push me past my faults to the person that I have the great potential in becoming. Trust means knowing that the person you choose to expose yourself to won’t taint that innocence in you. It is important to know that your faults do not foreshadow the outcome of your life and that you will not be condemned by the one in whom you place your trust. No matter the magnitude of the imperfection, you trust in the forgiveness of love. To err is human but to forgive is divine. Real trust is a surety of divinity. Real trust starts from within.

"A man who doesn't trust himself can never truly trust anyone else."
Cardinal de Retz

You are as powerful as you allow yourself to be. Your own self-doubt hinders you from completely living to your full potential. The gifts and talents given to you were not meant to be hidden. If you cannot validate yourself and bring these investments into fruition, then you prove yourself worthless. You can move mountains and sway the outcome of any situation by simply trusting in your capability to do so. I had to realize what it was I had to offer to this world in order for me to accept my place. I know the enormity of the greatness that I possess merely because I trusted myself enough to allow increase. If not for that, I would not be able to lead. I could not successfully catch your fall if I didn’t trust in my ability to firmly plant my feet. I want to build you up. I want to grow with you and show progress toward your potential. But I have to first trust in myself. I have to know and believe that I can do these things and so much more. I have to consider my strengths and trust that when combined with yours, we can change the world. I have to realize that I don’t have to continuously make the same mistakes and that one time is enough. I can’t settle for letting fear direct my actions, my thoughts, or my life. In order for you to trust in me and the words that I hold true, I have to trust in me and my ability to be that truth. By doing so I give my soul permission to trust you and know that I can do so undoubtedly because I took the time to understand myself.

Trust equals Love and God is Love, therefore to master the two would result in achieving perfection.

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 5:48

Every aspect of life stems from a single source and is all relative. I just connect the dots.
