The Policy and Government Relations (PGR) group is seeking a Government Relations professional to add to the state team. This role will be primarily remote with regular travel required.
The State Policy and Government Relations Team
Support Deloitte brand through engagement with executive-level policy makers at state and local level
Collaborate with business leaders across the Firm to drive the development and implementation of state government relations strategies
Identify and analyze policy trends to help inform business decisions and advance the Firm's business objectives and initiatives
Support internal and external clients by monitoring, analyzing, and providing insights into the political, legislative, and public policy landscapes
Build and maintain relationships with state and local elected officials, their staff, and other key stakeholders

Work You'll Do
Support and advance Deloitte's State Government Relations program with direction from the State Government Relations leadership team
Develop and maintain relationships with internal leaders from Deloitte's state government consulting business in a 15-state Western region of the United States, providing general government relations support by:
Monitoring and providing analysis of state and local trending legislation in areas key to Deloitte's government sector business
Providing analysis on the impact of federal legislation/executive action on state and local government
Conducting research and developing summaries, reports, and presentations on key state and local policy issues
Supporting state and local political engagement strategies for Deloitte's government sector business and coordinating political giving
Providing political intelligence on gubernatorial, state, and local elections
Developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including state and local officials
Engaging with state leadership associations (e.g. Western Governors Association) and supporting Deloitte eminence by facilitating Deloitte expert participation in panels, roundtables, association initiatives, and policy forums at the state and local levels
Supporting lobbyist management activities, including the interview and hiring processes
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree
7+ years of full-time, professional work experience in state or local legislative, policy, or related fields with demonstrated ability to work on a wide range of policy issues
Minimum of 4 years of experience working in state or local government, with a demonstrated understanding of the legislative and policymaking process
Ability to travel 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred:
Prior experience working with states in the Western region of the United States in a legislative, policy, or governmental capacity
Understanding of government procurement within professional services or consulting environment
Track record of maintaining strong relationships with state and local officials and policymakers
Understand the impact of emerging executive and legislative policies, with the ability to translate policies into narratives that inform business and leadership decisions
Capacity to deliver multiple, concurrent projects, collaborating alongside small, cross-functional and virtual teams
Skills to consolidate, analyze, and visualize information across multiple sources (incl. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,100 to $232,300.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
