Installation Technician Job Description The Installation Technician is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment while ensuring safe and efficient operation. This role plays a critical part in supporting equipment reliability and performance by executing preventive and corrective maintenance and collaborating with engineering and technical teams. Compensation & Schedule Starting Pay: $36.85/hour (paid weekly) Schedule: Train 8am-5pm, will transition to a rotating 2-2-3 shift pattern (day and night shifts) Core Responsibilities Install and decommission manufacturing and production equipment Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to perform maintenance and installation tasks Collaborate with Global R&D teams and Process Engineers to identify and implement equipment improvements Work both independently and with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance Technicians and Engineers Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore functionality in a timely manner Perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify issues and prevent recurrence Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and efficiency Attend daily operational meetings and communicate project updates Work Environment & Flexibility Flexibility to work day or night shifts based on business needs (schedule communicated in advance) Ability to support both permanent and temporary facility operations Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training and equipment validation, including up to 4 weeks at other sites as needed. Requirements 5+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment Strong experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems Experience with PLC systems (Allen Bradley and Siemens preferred) Working knowledge of Rockwell Automation tools (e.g., RSLogix 5000, RSLinx, FactoryTalk View) Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) Ability to share knowledge and support team development Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Technical Skills Electrical & Controls Install and troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, sensors, relays, and controllers Diagnose complex electrical issues and support safe system operation Understanding of servo systems and positioning controls Mechanical Systems Install and repair components such as bearings, gear sets, and mechanical linkages Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures Understanding of dimensional tolerancing and mechanical alignment Pneumatic Systems Understand pneumatic circuits, flow, and pressure systems Install and repair components such as tubing, valves, and cylinders Diagnose and restore system functionality Robotics & Automation Experience working with industrial robots, including basic programming adjustments Ability to troubleshoot robot performance issues and recalibrate systems Restore robotic systems to operational condition following faults or disruptions Integrated Systems Diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems Understand interdependencies between systems to resolve complex equipment failures Contact Information
