Malcolm McGuire is a native of Pasadena, California. He began his law enforcement career in 2003 as a police officer with the Tyler Police Department and currently serves as a Captain with the Southern Methodist University Police Department in Dallas, TX. His responsibilities include serving as the Department’s second-highest-ranking officer and providing executive-level operational leadership.
He oversees the day-to-day operations of the department and is responsible for ensuring emergency response readiness, maintaining policy, legal, and regulatory compliance, supervising leadership performance, and advancing departmental strategic planning, training, and community engagement initiatives.
