About   (request update)
Sarah Wooten is the Assistant Director of Admission at Milton Academy, an independent K-12 boarding and day school outside of Boston, MA. Sarah’s path to the admission field was not a typical one. A Milton Academy alumna, Sarah attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Spanish Literature and Language. She was awarded the Yanuck Scholarship to study abroad her junior year in Spain and is still an active member of Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, which she pledged at Spelman. After serving as Deputy Finance Director and Scheduler on a high profile US Senate race in Georgia, she enrolled in law school and received her J.D. from the University of Georgia. After passing the Georgia bar and working in the field of business immigration law, Sarah decided to change course and pursue what has ended up being a much more rewarding career in the field of secondary school admission. As Assistant Director, Sarah interviews prospective students and counsels families on the admission process and Milton Academy in particular. She oversees a region of the country for admission related recruitment and is responsible for numerous projects within the office. Returning to her alma mater and working at an independent school has afforded her the opportunity to continue connections with faculty and staff on a collegial basis, to contribute to the success of a multicultural group of students, and to work in an environment that encourages both challenging oneself professionally and being an active and supportive member of the community.
