I have 2 years of experience working in the Nonprofit and Volunteer Services industry.
Regional Director PNW iUrban Teen | iUrban Teen
From September 2024 to Current • 2 year(s)
As Regional Director for Portland, Vancouver, and Seattle, Washington, I help manage key stakeholder relationships, build new partnerships, seek grant opportunities, and manage monthly operations. Currently developing a relationship with a multinational sportswear corporation to engage our youth. Establishing a small group of high school youth/young adults to collaborate with a local auto dealership to learn about careers in the auto industry. Assisted in applying for funding for previous PCEF Grant opportunities. Built a team to collaborate with and secured a Seattle King County WIOA federal grant for workforce development in partnership with other organizations for $500,000. As a Regional Director for iUrban Teen/iUrban University, I have appeared on KOIN 6 Everyday Northwest to promote important upcoming events. I appeared on Telemundo speaking in Spanish about our upcoming events and target our Latino Community in Portland Metro and beyond. I also appeared on KOMO News in Seattle, WA, Northwest News Radio 97.7, Just a Conversation Robel & Micael The Up & UP Podcast, to promote our programs and events in the Seattle region. Plan and organize in tandem with the CEO our annual fundraising events in both Portland Oregon and Seattle Washington. Our last fundraising event reached over $30,000 in fundraising dollars. Currently planning our Seattle fundraiser. Collaborate with PPS to continue building on our iMentor team and other opportunities for positive student engagement. Apply for grants and seek out teams to partner with for upcoming funding opportunities. Helped secure our current Seattle King County WIOA Workforce Development Council partnership grant. Working on securing other WIOA workforce development funding and the Seattle Community Safety grant funding to reduce violence in our communities. Manage a team of 5-10 between Portland and Seattle. Listen to constructive criticism and provide mine to help us make continued growth. Report to our CEO and find ways to implement them and if unable to do so communicate clearly to employees but provide other options to make our work balance as smooth as possible. Report directly to the CEO on progress, upcoming key meetings, grants, foundations, and other funding opportunities. Offer insights on how we can improve on events, attracting more funding dollars and staff morale. Recruit and aid in hiring key people while also providing performance plans and constructive criticism for our internal team. Attend outreach events, speak with the media, share information about iUrban Teen, connect with local leaders and build positive relationships. Building a strategy with regard to our events and community and ensuring we’re attracting more youth to our programs.
