I am an aspiring entrepreneur with over three years of experience operating her hair business, The Lust for Loc’s. She specializes in loc retwists, styling, detox treatments, and hair care services while balancing academics, athletics, leadership activities, and employment throughout high school. Through running her business, Makiya has developed strong skills in communication, customer service, time management, and leadership. Her experience as a young business owner inspired her future goals in entrepreneurship and real estate.
Current Whereabouts:
I am currently involved in entrepreneurship, athletics, leadership, and community service. I balance academics with running my hair business, The Lust for Loc’s, while also participating in varsity cheerleading, track and field, and community projects through the Next Level Fitness Youth Mentoring Group. I am passionate about business, real estate, creativity, and personal growth, and I enjoy finding ways to positively impact my community while preparing for my future career goals.

Makiya Collins is a student-athlete, entrepreneur, and aspiring real estate business owner who is passionate about leadership, creativity, and personal growth. Throughout high school, she balanced academics, varsity athletics, employment, community involvement, and operating her hair business, The Lust for Loc’s. Her experiences have strengthened her discipline, resilience, and communication skills while inspiring her future goals in entrepreneurship and real estate.
