I am a dedicated educator with six years of experience as a Paraprofessional with Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) and am currently completing my final year of college. As a nontraditional student, I have successfully balanced family, work, and academic responsibilities while maintaining a strong commitment to excellence. My achievements include earning Dean's List honors three times and induction into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education. Through my professional and academic experiences, I have developed skills in instructional support, classroom management, lesson implementation, and working with diverse learners. I am committed to creating inclusive learning environments where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
My "claim to fame" in college is my perseverance, academic achievement, and commitment to becoming an educator despite the challenges I have faced as a nontraditional student. Balancing family responsibilities, work, and a rigorous academic schedule has required dedication, resilience, and strong time-management skills. Through it all, I have remained focused on my goal of earning my degree and making a positive impact on the lives of students.
One of my proudest accomplishments has been earning a place on the Dean's List three times during my college career. This achievement reflects my commitment to academic excellence and my determination to succeed. I was also honored to be inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) International Honor Society in Education, an accomplishment that recognizes my academic performance, leadership potential, and dedication to the teaching profession.
Beyond academics, I am passionate about serving diverse learners and creating inclusive learning environments where all students feel valued and supported. My coursework and field experiences have reinforced my belief that educators must meet students where they are and honor who they are in order to help them reach their full potential.
My college journey has taught me that success is built through perseverance, hard work, and a commitment to lifelong learning. As I prepare to become an elementary educator, I hope to be remembered as a student who overcame obstacles, achieved academic excellence, and remained dedicated to making a difference in the lives of future generations.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable college moment was being inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) International Honor Society in Education. As a nontraditional student balancing family responsibilities, work, and my studies, there were many times when the journey felt challenging. Being recognized for my academic achievements and dedication to the teaching profession was a powerful reminder that my hard work and perseverance were paying off.
Another memorable milestone was making the Dean's List three times during my college career. Each recognition represented countless hours of studying, determination, and sacrifice. Seeing my name on the Dean's List reinforced my belief that it is never too late to pursue your dreams and achieve your goals.
What made these moments especially meaningful was knowing how much I had overcome to reach them. They were not just academic accomplishments; they were symbols of growth, resilience, and my commitment to becoming an educator. These experiences gave me confidence in my abilities and motivated me to continue striving for excellence.
As I prepare to graduate and enter the teaching profession, I will always remember these moments as reminders that dedication and perseverance can lead to success, even when the path is not easy.

From March 2020 to Current • 6 year(s)
As a Paraprofessional, I support student achievement by providing instructional assistance to students in both classroom and small-group settings. I collaborate with teachers to implement lessons, reinforce academic concepts, monitor student progress, and provide targeted interventions to support student growth.
In addition to my instructional responsibilities, I coordinate and oversee several student leadership and enrichment programs. I create schedules, train students, and monitor the daily operations of the Student Announcers Program and School Safety Patrol Program, helping students develop leadership, responsibility, and communication skills. I also serve as a TAG (Talented and Gifted) Coordinator, supporting the identification, organization, and implementation of enrichment opportunities for advanced learners.
As an Intervention Specialist, I provide targeted academic support through pull-out and small-group instruction, using data-driven strategies to address learning gaps and improve student outcomes. I monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and collaborate with teachers and families to ensure students receive the support needed to succeed academically and socially.
Through these roles, I contribute to creating a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment while fostering student leadership, academic growth, and overall success.
