Claim To Fame:
My leadership and dedication to making my university a welcoming environment is my claim to fame. My junior year I was able to become a resident assistant on campus which allowed me to help the new freshman class. I was able to not only be a mentor but also someone they look could look up to. I helped many students with engagement on campus by showing them different clubs and organizations they could participate in throughout their experience. I also set aside time to listen to all of their problems while giving advice. I know that having these qualities will help in my future career in physical therapy and allow others to open up to me so I can help them in the best way possible.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable college moment occurred during my junior year. I was a resident assistant at the time and received a knock on the door from one of residents. In that current moment she was suffering from a major anxiety attack and I knew the feeling very well. I also struggle with anxiety so I knew I wanted to help her in the best way possible. I told her to breathe and informed her that she was going to be okay. I gave her a water bottle as well and gave her a huge hug. She was extremely grateful for my assistance and I was so glad that I was able to help her feel better.
