The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation General Mills Health Scholarship Program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students who plan to major in health-related studies. Academic achievement, leadership qualities and service to the community are required. Preference will be given to African-American students.

Eligible fields of study include medicine, engineering, technology, nutrition, or other health-related studies. A grade point average of 2.75 or above is also required. Students must also live in an area where their congressional representative is a member of a Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) district. Students must also enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. (CBCF) was established in Washington, D.C. in 1976 as a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the health, economic and education needs of African-American and other underserved communities. Their programs are supported through generous corporate donations and fundraising events.

Up to 43 scholarships are awarded each year. The scholarships are not automatically renewed each year but students receiving scholarships may reapply each year of college.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
