Design for Recovery sober living wants to offer a $1,000 scholarship to help students who fight every day to overcome the devastating effects of addiction. If you or a loved one deal with alcoholism or drug addiction, we want to hear from you.
If interested, please tell us your story. In 500-1,000 words we want to know what it was like, what happened, and what it’s like now. How has addiction affected your life and/or the lives of loved ones around you? How has addiction motivated you to change your life for the better? What obstacles—either past, present, or future—must you overcome, either in sobriety or in pursuing your education? We realize addiction is a family disease. That, although the addict uses, the family often suffers along with them. This is why we want to hear from you even If you do not personally identify as an addict. If a friend or loved one’s addiction left an indelible impact on your life, please feel free to apply. Design for Recovery wants to help kick start your journey toward discovering a better life. For many, education is a vital part of the process. We believe firmly that the key to ending the epidemic of addiction is in service to others. We also believe that this scholarship will motivate you to lend a helping hand to a struggling addict in the future. It is a chain reaction that may one day reverse the woeful trend that now befalls this country, with drug overdoses claiming the lives of more than 70,000 people every year. Please submit your story by October 31, 2020 and we will be awarding a well-deserving student with our $1,000 scholarship by December 15, 2020.
