Scholarship Eligibility
This year, Women at Microsoft will award three (3) $5,000 scholarships. The scholarships are renewable – each winner who continues to meet the criteria is eligible to receive an annual award of $5,000 for up to four (4) consecutive years for a potential total $20,000 scholarship. Up to 10 runners-up will be eligible for a one-time $2,500 stipend.



All completed applications must be submitted by March 1, 2021.

Requirements
This scholarship will be awarded to promising high school senior women and non-binary people* who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and target a career in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).

To be considered for the Women at Microsoft Scholarship, you must:

Be a graduating high school senior who identifies as a woman*
Plan to attend an undergraduate program in a 2 or 4-year University/College or Technical College in the fall of the academic year following high-school graduation. Schools must be in the USA or have a USA-Affiliate for financial transactions (contact Seattle Foundation to verify non-USA school’s eligibility).
Intend to pursue a career in a STEAM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).
Demonstrate a passion for technology and the impact it can have on the world.
Have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Require financial assistance to attend college.
Enrollment status must be full-time or half-time.
*Non-binary people, those who are gender fluid, and women of transgender experience are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply
To apply for a Women at Microsoft Scholarship, submit your application online through the link below by March 1st, 11:59 PM Pacific Time with the following items:

Two letters of recommendation. At least one letter must be from a faculty or staff member at your school. Letters of recommendation should be original and should not be duplicates of college recommendation letters.

Essay. An essay (500 words max) outlining your plan to be engaged in a STEAM industry in your career and highlighting your passion for technology and the impact it can have on the world.

Transcript. Include a copy of your current academic transcript. (Official or Unofficial copies will both be accepted.)

Summary Information. Outlining your personal, academic, and community engagements.

All materials MUST be submitted through the online application link below. Emailed or mailed documents will not be accepted.
