To enter our scholarship essay competition, answer the following question in 500 words:

Is it ever justifiable to defend someone that you know is guilty of a crime? How does this impact the moral compass of defense attorneys, and what role should they play in the justice system?

Eligibility: You must be a U.S. resident or resident alien who is registered at a U.S. trade school, college or university with a VALID STUDENT ID#. Essays must be unique (not submitted elsewhere) and written by the scholarship application signator. All submissions should be in English. Only one submission per student will be considered. No fees to apply.
