1858 Prize for Contemporary Southern Art Contest

Artists with ties to the South are eligible for this prize competition, and the new deadline is extended until September 7.
Features a $10,000 cash prize. Artists must reside or work in one of these states mentioned below OR they can also live elsewhere but be originally from one of these Southern states (they can live in other states and still be eligible): * Alabama * Arkansas * Florida * Georgia * Kentucky * Louisiana * Mississippi * North Carolina * South Carolina * Tennessee * Virginia * West Virginia The winner will receive: * A cash prize of $10,000 from the Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, South Carolina. * An artwork by the winning artist will be exhibited in the museum for a full year. * The museum will also invite the winner to Charleston for the official unveiling of their artwork, part of a three-day celebration honoring the artist.
