About   (request update)
I grew up in a military family and have traveled all over the world. This has helped me learn about diversity and about relationships. I have experienced tragedy in my life which God has brought me through and has blessed me with compassion for others. I have a close relationship with a brilliant playwright and author who has opened up African American history for me at last! I have, also, become more of an activist in recent years and, with God's help, will stand up for my people and for the disenfranchised.
My Interview Question
How do your life experiences contribute to your field of endeavor?
Current Whereabouts:
Recovering from acting as caregiver for my son who nearly died from Disseminated Valley Fever and Valley Fever Meningitis. God chose to spare my son's life, thank God!, and with God's help, I will be able to save my home from foreclosure due to a refinance through a broker who took advantage of my distress and got me into a loan with 13% interest. I am currently seeking employment and have only 2 or 3 weeks before my bankruptcy will be dismissed to to inability to pay.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
I am a widow of an Air Force Serviceman who served in the First Gulf War and died as a result of Gulf War Syndrome (although denied by services). I put myself through school after my husband's death and raised our two sons. I currently have an M.A. from Chapman University in Orange, CA, in Professional Counseling. I hope to go back to school for a terminal degree in Psychology with a minor in African American Studies, and help to empower my Brothers and Sisters, as well as other minorities and disenfranchised groups.
