"Music is the heartbeat of humanity."

From the time that we are born, music infuses our lives. After hearing the heartbeat of our mothers, our parents sing us lullabies to soften our cries. When it�s time to grow, our teachers use songs to help us learn the basics of our language. As we become developing adults, the media tells us stories with jingles and instrumentals to excite us about brands, products, and ideas.

Humanity has a way of finding a �song to lean on� when it needs to feel loved, to learn and to connect with society, and that�s why Shailaun Manning is all about the music. Music is a gift valued only if shared, not kept to oneself. Shailaun�s passion is wrapping and presenting these creations, making her a link between compositions and humanity.

Everything that Shailaun has done in her short life has led her to this stage. She has been singing since she was five years old, playing instruments since age ten, modeling and presenting herself since age seventeen and has most recently become a mentor to people from all walks of life who share a common aspiration: moving to the beat of their own drum.

After traveling the United States and abroad, meeting diverse groups of people and overcoming many of life�s trials, Shailaun�s desire to share her journey and experience was ignited. Writing became her primary outlet, and to present her voyage in the way she knew best, she would alchemize it into song.

"Music is therapy. It is where I find relaxation during difficult times and where creativity is sparked. Above all, I like to use music as a means to relate better with my friends, family and community."

Shailaun Manning is a current public relations major at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a Modern Musician certificate holder from Berklee College of Music and has formal training including two years of alto saxophone and viola, six months of West African tribal drums, ten years of choir, eleven years of modeling and acting and ten years of experiential marketing. Shailaun is also a professional model and actress currently represented by Kim Dawson Agency in Dallas, Texas.

As a lover of music and travel, Shailaun hopes to mix her passion of storytelling with the human bond, whether in Texas, Los Angeles or anywhere around the globe. She hopes to become humanity�s cardiologist, making the heartbeat stronger.
