Mr. Dee Murphy
Mr. Dee Murphy is a proud Gary native and graduate of the great Roosevelt High School. Mr. Murphy is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Lane College in Jackson, TN having earned a Bachelor of Arts Instrumental degree, and is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity Inc. Mr. Murphy is a student at Ball State University where he is pursuing his masters in Educational Leadership. He currently holds the position of Director of Bands at Theodore Roosevelt. His experience working with youth has spanned over a decade and his ensembles always put on a show.

The “Mighty Golden Panther Band” is currently under the direction of Mr. Dee Murphy. The band boasts a strong and dedicated membership ranging in numbers from 20-45. The “Mighty Golden Panther Band” has a long and strong history of musicianship and pageantry that keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting for more! The band also features the premier dance group in the city, the “Golden Satin Dolls”. These talented young ladies range from grades 8-12 and are under the direction of Miss Von Murphy. They are trained in the basics of Ballet, Tap, as well as Jazz, and are a sought after feature that performs with the band during events.
